Dr. Md. Emranul Islam Abir is an Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Khulna Medical College & Hospital, with focused expertise in Medical Retina, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Laser, OCT-based macular assessment and intravitreal therapy.
He performed more than 10,000 cataract surgeries — mostly phaco surgery — and treated a large quantity of medical retina patients with success.
He has completed Medical Retina Fellowship Training at Vision Eye Hospital, Dhaka, and has a special clinical interest in diabetic retinal disease, macular disorders, retinal laser and modern medical retinal management.
Alongside his retinal practice, he performs modern phacoemulsification cataract surgery, including an injection-free, bandage-free, topical cataract surgery approach in appropriately selected patients.
